It does this by condensing water onto a cold surface. This is a principle that we have all experienced. When you have an ice cold drink on a hot day, you notice water sweating on the outside of the glass.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This is exactly how Scanair dehumidifier’s work, with a fewer minor differences to improve the effectiveness. A fan is used to speed up the process. It blows warm air onto cold metal coils, and the resulting water drips into a bucket. The resulting cold air is then passed over warm coils to bring it back to room temperature. Air conditioners work in the same way, but they do not reheat the air before returning it to the room.</p>
<h2>How Dehumidifiers work</h2>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Scanair Heat pump dehumidifiers extract water from the air by using a heat pump that is similar to an air conditioner. First, a fan pulls the indoor air across a very cold coil, which causes the moisture to condense. The droplets drip into a bucket inside the unit. The dry air is warmed by a second, heated coil and exhausted at room temperature. These dehumidifiers are considered among the most effective.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Scanair produce various types of dehumidifier and specifications as per customer requirements. Refrigeration-based dehumidification systems are more economical than desiccants at high temperatures and high moisture levels. In general, mechanical refrigeration systems will come down up to 40% RH.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Desiccant-based systems are more economical than refrigeration systems at lower temperatures and lower moisture levels. Typically, a desiccant dehumidification system is utilized for applications below 40% RH down to 1% RH.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Thus, in many applications, a DX or chilled water pre- cooling coil is mounted directly at the dehumidifier inlet. This design allows for removal of much of the initial heat and moisture prior to entering the dehumidifier where the moisture is reduced even further. Chemical absorbent dehumidifiers work best in warm climates.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">They use a chemical drying agent, or desiccant, on a heat exchange wheel to absorb water molecules from the air. Damp air is sent outside via vents. Desiccant dehumidifiers use a lot of energy. They are more commonly used by industries than homeowners.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Scanair desiccant dehumidifier is built to suit GMP applications it is provided with pre filter 10 and 5 micron main filter with 0.3 micron Hepa media filters are available its start from 50 Cfm To 5000 Cfm standalone model single phase 220 Volt 50 Hz, Three phase 440 Volt 50 Hz options. <p style="text-align: justify;">In order to achieve the controlled air requirement listed above, refrigeration equipment alone becomes uneconomical, impractical and cumbersome to design, operate and maintain.  On the other hand desiccant type dehumidifiers combined with refrigeration can offer a simple and economical solution to controlling both temperature and humidity levels as low as necessary.</p>
<h2>Desiccant Dehumidifier for Storage or Processing Film and Paper</h2>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Desiccant Dehumidifier is the perfect solution for processing and storage of film and paper. All photosensitive materials deteriorate with age, the rate is largely dependent upon the ambient conditions. Deterioration increases rapidly under high temperature and humidity levels. High humidity alone is usually more harmful than high temperatures. High humidity levels can accelerate loss of sensitivity and contrast, increase shrinkage, produce mottle, cause softening of the emulsion, and promote fungus growth.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Under extremely humid conditions, film or paper should be both exposed and processed as soon as possible after the package is opened.  If exposed products cannot be processed on the same day that they are exposed, they should be kept in a dehumidified cabinet or store room. Color films or papers should be stored at 50˚F or lower. Air conditioning with relative humidity control provides the most desirable storage conditions for unprocessed products.</p>
<p>The required storage conditions for developed film and paper depend on:</p>

<li>The value of records</li>
<li>The length of storage time</li>
<li>Whether the films are on nitrate or safety base</li>
<li>Whether the paper base is resin coated</li>
<li>The type of photographic image</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: justify;">High humidity damages gelatin, encourages the growth of mold, increases dimensional changes, accelerates the decomposition of nitrate support, and accelerates deterioration of both black and white and color images. Medium-term storage of photographic film is suitable for preservation for up to ten (10) years. The most satisfactory humidity and temperature levels for storage are 30%-40% RH at 24 -28˚C.  A desiccant dehumidifier with cooling coils is the most efficient and economical means of accomplishing the desired conditions. The archival storage of records on film also requires environmental control of about 15%-30% RH at temperatures below 22˚C.</p>
<p>Proper preservation of photographic materials is complicated because each of the phases is controlled by a separate group. The composition of the film or paper is controlled by the manufacturer, the processing by the processing laboratory, and the storage conditions by the customer. The importance of environmental control in all three phases must be recognized by all in order to assure a high quality final product.</p>

<h2>Humidity Control for Packaging Equipment Rooms</h2>

Candy wrapping machines and packaging machines for food powders or drug packets are typical examples. <h2>Dehumidifiers in Food Production</h2>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Dehumidifiers play a huge role in food production and preservation. When exposed to high relative humidity, such familiar foods as potato chips, dry breakfast cereals, and soda crackers exhibit an affinity for water. These and similar foodstuffs are manufactured using high temperature processes, so we expect that excess water has been driven off and the foods are dry. However, if these foodstuffs are allowed to remain exposed in a humid environment, even for a short time, they will absorb water from the surrounding air. Although the quality is not affected, these foods characteristically become soggy and rubbery-and generally not very appetizing. In processing such powdery foods as cocoa, gelatin, and dehydrated concentrates, the presence of moisture in the surrounding atmosphere can cause tiny particles of the powder to stick or cluster together, thus inhibiting their free flow in manufacturing or packaging processes.</p>
<p>Processing machinery also can be affected by moisture in the air, which can interfere with operation and obstruct the free and easy movement of the foodstuff. Obviously, when moisture can have such a profound effect on food and/or machinery, the solution lies in conditioning the air surrounding the processing and manufacturing area.</p>
